Manual Archiving
Summary¶
In addition to template level life cycle policies, single workspaces can be archived manually if archiving is enabled. This page covers how groups are manually archived.
Enable Manual Archiving¶
Manual workspace archiving can be enabled from Teamwork web part settings by setting Enable archiving toggle to On. This selection can be found under Privacy Settings
Archive Group¶
A group owner can archive group that is no longer on use. Archived groups are filtered out from groups listing by default and it is not possible to edit archived group content.
Step-by-step Archive group
- Select Group Info from group card under three dots
- Select Archive Group from site info

Confirm archiving from confirmation dialog. If group to be archived contains both site and team confirmation is asked whether you want archive both team and site or only team.

Note that even if you choose to archive the site, the Group Owners will still have the permissions to edit the site contents as Office 365 assigns them as Site Collection Administrators.

If team is archived all conversations are set read-only
Archive Site¶
A group owner can archive site that is no longer on use. Archived sites are filtered out from sites listing by default and it is not possible to edit archived site content.
Step-by-step Archive site
- Select Site Info from group card under three dots
- Select Archive Site from group info
- Confirm archiving from confirmation dialog.
- Archiving process started message is shown and archiving the site is started
Note
Site collection administrators are not removed when the site is archived. They will still have write access to the site even after archiving has completed.
Archive Workspaces¶
A workspace owner can archive group that is no longer on use. Archived workspaces are filtered out from workspace listing by default and it is not possible to edit archived group content.

- Archiving process started message is shown and archiving the site is started
Filter Archived / Active¶
User can view only active or archived or both groups/sites by filtering the dashboard. By default, only active groups and sites are shown. User can see archived groups/sites by using State filter and selecting Archived selection.
