Teams Personal App

Summary

Starting with version 1.21 Teamwork can run inside Microsoft Teams as a personal app. This means users do not have to open a browser, remember their Intranet address and login separately to access the Teamwork dashboard or place orders for new teams (or groups or sites). Instead, they can just click on the 'Valo' button available directly on Teams.

Teamwork as an app in Teams is available in Teams when used in Desktop (Windows, Mac, Linux), browser (all major browsers) and in mobile as soon as the support for that is added by Microsoft.

Authentication

Teams desktop client requires especial authentication which can be done in Teamwork by either entering credentials in a login window or through tenant-level permissions. See more information from Teams Authentication documentation.

Customizing Teamwork personal app

Customers might want to have icons that suit the design guidelines of their companies or a different description that better describes the importance or usage of the Teamwork personal app. Those kinds of customizations are welcome in our offering for Microsoft Teams. However, it is important to correctly update the app's version in order to avoid future conflicts that might happen when new Teamwork versions are updated on the customer's environment.

By default, Teamwork personal app has the same version as other Teamwork components. If customization is desired, consider updating only the latest digit of the version's number 1.21.2.0. The other three parts will be used by Valo in order to update the Teamwork version when publishing new major releases or hotfixes.
